Christmas at the Hildreds

The Hildreds Centre, Skegness was awarded a unique prize for it's 2004 / 2005 Christmas displays, beating all other Shopping Centres in a competition organised by the British Council of Shopping Centres.  Since then, the staff at the Hildreds have designed and built all of the displays themselves.  We hope you enjoy them!

New for Christmas 2009

Well Santa turned on the Christmas displays last night at the Hildreds Centre in Skegness to a crowd of about 6,000 people and boy did it snow!

The magical Sleeping Beauty themed grotto was finally opened and 50 lucky children were among the first to receive not just a present but also a live Christmas tree sapling from Santa himself which they can plant in their own gardens as a lasting memory of their visit to the Hildreds Centre.

As well as Sleeping Beauty you can see Prince Phillip and his faithful horse George, Flora, Fauna and Merrywhether the good Fairies and Queen Malificent, the evil witch, and Jack Frost is in the 25ft tall enchantad castle telling the story of Sleeping Beauty to the children as they wait beneath to see Santa.

Snow White and the seven dwarfs are in the centre and with a press of a button you can hear them sing.  With another press you can smell Christmas cake and caramel pie cooking in their tiny woodland cottage.

You will also be able to see The White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, March Hare, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee and the silly Queen of Hearts from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland as well as the cowardly lion, scarecrow and tin man from the Wizard of Oz.

When you visit the Hildreds you can leave a letter for Santa and receive a free reply within a couple of days, pick up a colouring competition form and the chance to win a Santa sack bursting with goodies sponsored by the shops within the centre.  You can write your name or that of a close friend or relative in the centre's own "Naughty" or "Nice" books or even leave a gift for a child less fortunate than you this Christmas.

We hope you enjoy the displays when you visit the Hildreds Centre.

See you there, lots of love,

Gnorman
