Not long now until the start of the Christmas festivities at the Hildreds. It all starts on Friday 29th November. The illuminated Santa Parade will leave Briar Way and travel up High Street then down Lumley Rd at 6.15pm. There will be lots of organisations taking part so come along, line the streets and give them a wave as we bring Santa to town in the Skegness Fire Station illuminated sleigh.
They will make their way to the stage by the town Christmas tree where both the Skegness lights and the award winning Hildreds Christmas displays will be switched on at 7pm by Santa, helped by Lincs FM presenters Joseph Begley and Alex Brown, The Mayor of Skegness Cllr Mark Dannatt and the cast from The Embassy Theater’s Pantomime – Jack & The Beanstalk. Bring your brollies because once the lights are turned on, its going to snow! Entertainment will continue until 9pm with help from County Linx Radio.
The Hildreds Jack & The Beanstalk themed Santa’s Grotto will also open on the night at around 7.15pm. Come and meet the cast from the Embassy Theater’s Panto and visit Santa. It is £5 per child to see Santa however, every child that visits will receive a gift from him, along with a goodie bag containing a small pot, compost and beans to grow your very own beanstalk at home! You will have to pre-book to see Santa on the Switch On Night only but at all other times, just turn up. Al proceeds from the Grotto are donated to The Skegness Carnival to help put on next years Carnival event in August.
Don’t forget to walk through the Hildreds and see the award winning displays. Harry and Zac – The Hildreds singing reindeer will be there. They have been working in Candy Land since the last time they were in the mall and have learned a new song to sing to you. Ernie, Enry and Eric the Hildreds Eskimos have also been busy making ice lollies and ice cream, come along and smell the different flavours they have made.
You can post a letter to Santa on the night and receive a free reply within 24 hours or even pick up a Christmas colouring competition form for a chance to win some amazing prizes. You can even have your face, festively painted for free by Alternative Addiction Face Painters in the mall.
The Hildreds Giving Tree will also open on the night which supports Boston Women’s Aid and if you choose to, you can buy a gift for a child staying in a hostel over Christmas.
We hope you can join us on Friday 29th for a great night but the fun doesn’t stop there because the next day – Saturday 30th Nov it is the Skegness Christmas Market organised by The Skegness Carnival. Come along and join in the fun and pick up a Christmas bargain or two! Why not make a long weekend of it, bring the family and enjoy a winter wonderland in Skegness this Christmas?
It’s going to be a GIANT Christmas at The Hildreds this year! – See you there!
