The Hildreds Shopping Centre was built in 1988 and is considered to be by many as – the Heart of shopping in Skegness. With 30 shop units it has a great range of well known names and independent retailers where you can buy just about anything from high end fashion to the preverbal bucket and spade. There is car parking for over 300 cars as well as a café and several independent mall kiosk retailers too. The Hildreds is all on one level which makes it ideal for our elderly or disabled visitors and families with small children and is just a short walk away from the local train station, bus stops, main town shopping area and the beach.
The Hildreds Centre is famous for its award winning displays throughout the year including carnival floats, Halloween Grottos and Christmas displays – all designed and hand built by the centre manager and centre staff.
Each year The Hildreds stage many free events such as The Star Wars Academy, The School for Witches and Wizards and The Pirate Training Academy where you can dress up, take part and enjoy a fun filled day with us.
2020 has been a strange year for us but we have still managed to design and build a spectacular Christmas display featuring over 100,000 festive lights, Christmas garlands and trees as well as introducing new friends like Chilly Charlie our life sized animated singing Snowman. Some of our old friends will also be returning to meet you all again such as Eric, Ernie and Enry the 3 Hildreds Eskimos, Hettie the Yeti and Harry and Zac our singing reindeer who have been practicing a new song to sing just for you! Slushy and Mushy our life size Ice – Cream snowmen will also be making an appearance along with the great man himself – Santa who will be joined this year by The Grinch on selected days.
“Guide Dogs and Assistance dogs are allowed while wearing the appropriate livery. Dogs may be brought into the mall if either carried or in a stroller. Please check with individual shops with regards to their own dog policy”
