The Hildreds Shopping Centre – Where the Christmas Magic begins16/11/2018 - 2:16 pm
Not long now until the Hildreds centre celebrates their famous Christmas Switch On in Skegness on Friday 30th November. The fun starts at 5.30 when the County Linx Bus starts to play some festive tunes to get us all in the Christmas spirit. The Santa Illuminated Christmas Parade will leave Briar Way at 6.15pm and travel up High Street and Down Lumley Rd to the Town Christmas Tree where the stage will be set in readiness for the grand Switch On at 7pm. Joseph Begley and John Marshall from Lincs FM will be our hosts and they will welcome the stars from The Embassy Theatre’s Panto – Cinderella, The Jolly Fisherman, The Mayor of Skegness Cllr Sid Dennis and Santa of course to the stage to switch on the town lights and the Hildreds centre’s award winning Christmas displays.
The Enchanted Cinderella Christmas Grotto will also open on the night where you will walk through a magical life-size pumpkin coach to enter the castle grotto to meet Santa and the Elves. Look out for the 2 Ugly Sisters on your visit as well as for the mice that helped Cinders with her ball gown. The entrance to the Grotto is £5 per child but you receive 2 gifts – one from Santa and another one from the Hildreds and did you know that every penny that is spent in the grotto helps to put on next years Skegness Carnival parade, so not only will you have a great time visiting Santa and receiving 2 great gifts but you will also be helping the Skegness Carnival for another year!
Inside the Hildreds there are lots of things to see and do including seeing Hetti the Yeti and her friends the Hildreds Eskimos – Ernie, Enrie and Eric! you will also be able to see the Hildreds singing reindeer – Zac and Harry who have been learning a new song for you this year but be prepared, Zac isn’t feeling well so his voice might not be quite up to it!
Finally, why not have a photo in our S’Elfie Pod? All you have to do is come along and pop your head through the pod to be instantly transformed into an Elf for Christmas! You can take the photo on your own phones or cameras then if you like take them to Occasions or Max Speilmann in the Hildreds and have them made into a range of unique Christmas gifts such as cushions, jigsaws or even mugs and coasters! You can even print the photo out yourself and send it to your friends and family as a special Christmas card – Come as yourself and leave as an Elf!
After visiting the displays, why not pick up a colouring competition form for a chance to win some fantastic prizes and then post a letter to Santa in Percy the magic post box by Shoe Zone which will fly to the North Pole and you will receive a free reply from Santa posted on the notice board by Superdrug the next day.
The Boston Women’s Aid Giving Tree will also open on the switch on night too. This is a tree that helps to collect toys and gifts for children staying in local hostels over the Christmas period who have had to leave their homes and possessions due to domestic violence.
Saturday 1st December – the day after the Christmas Switch On will be the Skegness Christmas Market with lots and lots to see and do including market stalls to get some special gifts for the whole family as well as sampling some festive food and this year there will also be a fun fair in the street too!

Beauty and the Beast Halloween Grotto04/09/2018 - 2:05 pm
There’s something hiding in the west wing of the castle, something animal like and ferocious. There are tales that a monster lives in the enchanted castle but no one has ever seen him so they don’t know for sure but it is true that strange sounds can be heard coming from inside the castle walls, late at night but no one is ever seen going in or coming out.
Come to The Hildreds Shopping Centre on Saturday 27th October between 11am – 3pm and meet Beauty and the Beast in their enchanted Halloween Grotto. Cogswoth and Lumiere will be there too. Dress up in Halloween fancy dress and have a photo then join in the spooky Trick or Treat trail around the shops collecting surprises along the way. This is a FREE event as part of the Hildreds Kids Club, there is no need to book just turn up and have some fun.

In a Galaxy far, far away…………
For one day only Skegness will enter the Decadon quadrant, a planet full of rogues and strange cultures. Master Yoda has been looking for YOU!
Are you the one that could make a difference? Are you the one that legend speaks of?
If you are that person, join us on Saturday 5th May outside the Hildreds Centre between 11am – 3pm to learn the skills of the JEDI. You will be trained to use a light sabre and eventually meet Darth Vader in hand to hand combat to be awarded a signed certificate from The Jedi Council of Skegness.
The event is free, no need to book, just turn up, put on the Jedi cape and change your destiny – FOREVER!
This event is in collaboration with Neverland Theatre, Skegness where you will be able to meet other characters such as Chewbacca, Imperial Storm Troopers and even an X Wing Fighter pilot. Come along in Star Wars costume for a photo opportunity.
Come quick, you are our only hope.

Calling all Little Experts!
Do you have a child who loves trying out new toys, games and sweets? Well if you do this might just be for you! The Hildreds centre are looking for 2 Little Experts age between 5 – 10 years of age to test out products in the shops in the Hildreds in time for Christmas. We will film their reactions and what they think of the product and hopefully your child will be able to give us a thumbs up score between 1 and 5 for the product they are testing…..and as a bonus, the chosen children will then take home the toy, game or sweets for free! Shrek’s Haunted Halloween Swamp Grotto08/09/2017 - 6:39 pm
Are you in for a treat this Halloween? Come and meet Shrek in his Haunted Halloween Grotto and see if he will Trick or Treat you? Dress up in your scariest Halloween costume for a fantastic keepsake photo, then walk around the Hildreds shops on our very own Trick or Treat Trail. Look out for the special poster in the windows of all of the shops taking part to take your little horrors into to get a surprise? Then later in the afternoon from 5pm till 7pm come dress up and join us for the famous Zombie Crawl outside the Hildreds. Linx Coastal Radio will be there spinning the Halloween tunes along with a special van selling “Brain Burgers” and “Severed Finger hot dogs” so we hope you are hungry. Join in with our very special Zombie Zumba before dancing like a loon along with Top Limitz Dance Studio in the “Time Warp” Dance Off. Its going to be an amazing day. You will be able to meet Shrek from 10am – 4pm and this event is free although there will be a small charge for a souvenir photo if you want one but all proceeds go to The Skegness Carnival. The Zombie Crawl is also in aid of raising funds for the Carnival. We hope you can join us for a great day 🙂
