Paddington Bear visits the Hildreds for Easter27/03/2017 - 1:49 pm
Every year, The Hildreds centre build an animated display in the mall in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care to raise funds for their charity. This year we will be building a life-size Paddington bear and Mr Brown will be in the display reading stories about the famous little bear. There will also be an Easter colouring competition where you could win some fantastic Easter goodies. Keep an eye out also for Paddington’s Marmalade sandwiches, he has made lots of lovely, sticky, gooey sandwiches but he has misplaced them around the centre. can you find them all and enter how many there are on the special competition form to perhaps win a prize? There will be chocolate lolly give-aways over Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday for little ones that visit the display and on Thurs 13th April, Steve and Wendy Gould will be in the mall with A Splash of Gold, helping children to paint Paddington Bear masks. Its all free so pop down to the Hildreds this Easter between 8th – 23rd April and say hello to Paddington Bear 🙂
The X Factor visits The Hildreds Centre07/03/2017 - 12:25 pm
Do you have what it takes to be the next Superstar? Well if you do why not pop down to The Hildreds this Saturday 11th March and audition for your chance to be on the hit TV talent show – The X Factor. There will be a sound pod in the mall where you will be able to record a performance in front of the X Factor preliminary judges. We hope to see as many people here as possible this Saturday, this will be the third year that the X factor has visited the Hildreds and held auditions in the centre because of the high quality of performers we have in the area.
Good luck to everyone who comes and auditions, we look forward to seeing someone from the Skegness auditions on the live TV show 🙂
The Hildreds Centre and Skegness Town Christmas Switch on 201615/11/2016 - 10:16 am
We hope you will be able to join us on Thursday 24th November from 6pm when the entertainment starts outside the Hildreds Centre. The illuminated Christmas parade will leave Briar way at around 6.20pm and travel up High Street and down Lumley Road being led by the Lincolnshire Cola Truck and of course Santa. Keep an eye open for Captain Hook and Mr Smee who will also be in the parade and up to no good. The parade will stop outside the town Christmas Tree by the central stage. The festivities will start with a proclamation from the Town Crier, followed by The Mayor of Skegness Cllr Dick Edginton. Captain Hook, Mr Smee and Santa will then take over the stage ably assisted by Rob Hammond Breakfast presenter from Lincs FM who will perform the countdown and help to switch on both the town lights and the Hildreds award winning displays at 7pm.
After the switch on, it will snow, buckets of the stuff along to festive music, choirs and Coastal Linx Radio will continue to play throughout the night until 9pm.
The Peter Pan and the Pirates from Neverland Christmas Grotto will be open from 7;15pm but you will have to pre book to see Santa on the night. All of the characters will be there including the crocodile, watch out for him! You can walk through Captain Hook’s pirate galleon, fire cannon and hear the pirates in the galley before stepping into Santa’s enchanted grotto. Don’t forget, the grotto is managed by The Skegness carnival and every penny that they take from the grotto goes towards putting on the Skegness Carnival Parade and week long events next year.
If you then walk down the mall towards the car park, you will meet Zachariah, Santa’s relief reindeer, but he won’t be helping Santa this year because he has had a little accident when the stable door bashed him on his nose!
Come and meet Eric, Ernie and Enry our 3 Eskimo friends along with Hettie the Yeti in our award winning displays.
Pick up a Christmas colouring competition form for a chance to win some fantastic seasonal prizes or post a letter to Santa in Percy the Post box.
We hope you can make it, come and have some fun, make memories and don’t forget to share them on our Facebook page too 🙂

The Hildreds Halloween Event has got BIGGER!04/10/2016 - 10:14 am
We hope to see you on Saturday 29th October for The Hildreds Halloween event. First of all, from 10am you will be able to meet The Grinch in his Halloween Grinch Grotto. Come along in fancy dress costume to receive a gift from The Grinch – but don’t forget – he likes to play Tricks too!
The Hildreds will also be holding the “Monster Mash Trick or Treat Walk” around the centre shops. Look out for the Monster Mash posters in the shop windows and bring the family along in their fancy dress costumes to receive a Trick or a Treat. All of the shop staff will be dressed up too, so join in the fun.
Finally….from 6pm join us for the FIRST EVER Thriller Zombie Crawl across the front of the Hildreds. This is an event in aid of The Skegness carnival where you can dress up as a Zombie and dance along to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Don’t worry if you can’t dance, so long as you can shake a leg (or an arm) you will be fine! Sponsor forms can be collected from the Hildreds or a donation of £5 per person or £10 per family (2 adults and 2 children) can be made on the night. Meet in the Briar Way service yard opposite The Skegness Market from 5.30pm to take part.
It’s going to be a fun filled day with plenty of Tricks and Treats for everyone.
We hope to see you there 🙂
